Faced with increasingly complex and constantly evolving contemporary societal challenges, social innovation is presented as a solution to the socio-economic, health, environmental and demographic challenges that are exerting growing pressure on development systems. Budgetary constraints and increased demand for products and services adapted to ever-changing needs and contexts have contributed to the growing use of the concept by social actors, including public decision-makers and organizations.
The works in this book present approaches to social innovation and provide a better understanding of the processes leading to social innovation. It also addresses the challenge of building organizational capacity to achieve greater results and sustainable impact within organizations, networks and across borders. It also explores methods and indicators for measuring and evaluating the process and effects of social innovation in the public sector.
The ambition of this book is also to lay the innovative foundations of a renewed, transdisciplinary conceptual framework, in the light of singular, post-modern, feminist or critical theoretical frameworks, thus offering original research perspectives and contextualized paths of experimentation on social innovation.
Media man and academic, Félix Zogning is Professor at the Université de Sherbrooke. His research interests include the performance of listed companies, mergers and acquisitions, the governance mechanisms of private and public organizations and their impact on performance, and the internationalization of SMEs.
