How is transformational change achieved? Why is it so difficult to mobilize the entire organizational community around changes affecting structure, culture and processes? What qualities must leaders possess to bring about these changes?
This book was written in response to these questions. In fact, it is an extension of a course taught for several years at HEC Montréal, Psychology and Leadership of Change, whose theoretical foundations are those developed by Will McWhinney in his book "Paths of Change". This book presents the essential elements and aims to provide the reader with practical ways of achieving transformational change, without necessarily describing its articulations exhaustively. More specifically, it aims to provide guidance when it comes to influencing people to mobilize for this type of change.
As a change-maker myself, McWhinney's book provides me with valuable information that I can use to influence those involved in transformational change within organizations. It is with a desire to share this knowledge and the techniques that flow from it that I have written this book.
