Over the past three decades, organizations that have developed their ability to learn are those that stand out today for their propensity to innovate and effectively cope with the turbulence of their environment. This capacity to learn relies on the concerted effort of individuals, teams and the organization as a whole: learning is not just an activity that involves each and every member of the organization, but also the teams of which they are a part, and the organization that puts in place the mechanisms that support this learning.
The cumulative effect of these efforts is an organization in which individuals challenge conventional wisdom and teams collaborate synergistically. This book describes the theoretical concepts that underpin individual, team and organizational learning, and offers practical ways to increase the capacity of individuals, teams and organizations to learn.
