Human psychology is sensitive and subtle. As a manager, you have to show managerial courage and wisdom. Above all, wisdom! Working with people, helping people, guiding people. Isn't this what a manager should be developing at all costs, so that the people in his or her organization can express the full potential of their skills, and put them to work for the organization? We also note that many organizations are facing a shortage of skilled labor, or are experiencing difficulties in terms of recruiting, attracting, retaining and retaining competent people. And yet, competency-based management is said to be essential to a company's competitiveness. This has been demonstrated by a wide range of scientific studies, including analysis and identification of the variables that predict or moderate a worker's effectiveness or productivity, the conditions that need to be put in place to optimize productivity and, above all, the psychological variables conducive to optimizing the human potential of individuals in their work situation.
This book has been written for any manager who is grappling with any of these issues, or who wants to move from a human resources management (HRM) dynamic to a human resources management (HRM) dynamic, or who is simply interested in competency-based management. This book can be used by anyone who needs to implement a competency-based management approach, or develop one or more competency-based management tools. It is also a highly useful reference tool for any student enrolled in a university-level course dealing specifically with management processes or competency-based management models for individuals in their work situation. As a result, this book has been designed to be practical in nature, providing managers with the tools they need for their day-to-day work.
