Human resources management (HRM) has come a long way in recent decades. Often described as a crucial factor in the success of organizations, HRM, and above all its performance, remains paradoxically little and poorly measured in organizations.
This book aims to provide insights and tools around HR program performance to help professionals structure and strengthen their analytical thinking and strategic efforts. Readers will find analytical grids and suggested indicators for quantifying HR performance on two inseparable levels: efficiency and effectiveness. By mastering the rudiments of methodology and applying them to different HR activities, HR professionals will be able to play their role as business partners to the full.
Michel Cossette is a professor in the Human Resources Management Department at HEC Montréal. He is a research associate at the Institut de la valorisation des données (IVADO) and at the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations (CIRANO). His work focuses on HR analytics (choice and use of HR indicators in organizations) and the roles of HRM professionals. In addition to publishing his work in international and national scientific journals, he has developed several case studies related to the use of HR analytics in his teaching of the subject to various clienteles (bachelor's, master's, DESS and École des dirigeants) at HEC Montréal.;
