Andrée Villemaire enjoyed a diversified career in the residential, institutional and corporate interior design sectors before teaching at Cégep Marie-Victorin. With a 2nd cycle diploma in college pedagogy, she taught most aspects of professional interior design practice for 14 years. NCIDQ-certified in 2002, she subsequently undertook the technical revision of L'essentiel du design d'intérieur, Guide du candidat à l'examen du NCIDQ, an exam administered by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ), the American certification body for interior designers.nShe was the driving force behind her professional association's development of the APDIQ® Certified Interior Designer certification mark, which was implemented in 2011. As a result of all her voluntary contributions to the advancement of her profession, she was named an honorary member of the Association professionnelle des designers d'intérieur du Québec (APDIQ) in 2014. The writing of this interior design professional practice manual is her most recent achievement.
