The positive and negative social and environmental externalities of companies, universities, institutions and many other organizations are now under the microscope of a number of players: groups of citizens, consumers and financial backers, as well as NGOs, trade unions and many other stakeholders.

The integration of these externalities into business models, investment decision-making processes, new product launch studies and other strategies has now become essential. Known as "corporate social responsibility", then integrated as "extra-financial risk", this concept has been the subject of a great deal of research in various fields of management: human resources, accounting, finance, governance and so on. The vast majority of these studies have been carried out in developed countries.

This book is a compendium of research carried out in French-speaking emerging countries. Beginning with a theoretical contextualization written by practitioners recognized for their contribution to the advancement and acceptance of CSR worldwide, and by pioneering practitioners in the field, this collective presents studies and reflections on the Moroccan, Tunisian, Algerian and Nigerian markets. These contributions provide a better understanding of social, environmental and governance issues in the context of these emerging countries, contextualizing them and catalyzing reflection on the challenges facing both local firms, large and small, and the international companies operating there.
