A relationship with your body can seem like a hike, and not just for a day, but for a lifetime. Indeed, we can have short, or long, periods when we're able to have a healthy relationship with our body in our daily lives, enabling us to maintain positive mental health.
However, as with any hike, we may encounter certain challenges, whether contextual or present for some unknown reason. We must recognize these moments of challenge, seek the necessary and appropriate help to overcome them, and look beyond them to reach the summit and admire the view.
This book will give us a better understanding of the concept of body image, while providing us with different notions and tools to improve our relationship with food and physical activity in particular, which will in turn improve our relationship with our bodies and our body image.
Trained as a clinical nurse, Frédérique Dontigny is currently completing her training to become a licensed psychotherapist, given her passion for the field of mental health, particularly body image and eating disorders. A yoga and meditation teacher at the same time, she also wanted to pass on this passion, hence the opening of the Centre mouvement bien-être in August 2023. Through her writings, clinical practice and yoga, she aims to contribute to the well-being of all, encouraging as many people as possible to accept their bodies and live happily ever after.
