Whether organizational or individual, performance comes in all shapes and sizes: accounting, economic, financial, social, environmental, educational, academic, sporting, and so on. It's even quite logical to say that today, individuals and organizations are literally obsessed with their performance, and in particular with measuring it. Yet the literature shows that no real attention is paid to thinking about this notion, which is so omnipresent in our lives. In this book, a number of people have therefore attempted to question this notion, in particular its real meaning and essence, from different angles: what is performance? What is the legal vision of this concept? What are the new organizational trends in human resources? What is the viewpoint of not-for-profit organizations? What about performance policies in the Quebec education system? What about a more altruistic, ecocentric performance in the age of the Anthropocene? Accounting and social and environmental performance. What if we were to look at less often visible areas, such as the textile industry and, in particular, the Canadian sheep's wool industry?
Co-holder of the Desjardins-Guy Bernier Chair of Cooperation, Hanen Khemakhem is a full professor in the Department of Accounting Sciences at ESG-UQAM, where she teaches governance and accounting. She holds a doctorate in administration and is a member of the Ordre des Comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. Her research focuses on governance, diversity and performance.
D. in Business Administration, Saidatou Dicko is a full professor in the Department of Accounting Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She teaches courses in financial accounting, corporate governance and research methodology. Her research interests include corporate governance, corporate political action and financial performance. She has published several books and numerous scientific articles in international journals.
Sana Ben Hassine, PhD in Business Administration, is a professor in the Department of Accounting Sciences at ESG-UQAM. She teaches accounting information systems and data analysis. Her research, published in several international journals and conferences, focuses on ethics, sustainable development and AI applications.
