A socio-historical introduction to economic, political and cultural Québec

This teaching tool is designed for foreign students who are assumed to have no prior knowledge of Quebec.

It presents the territory and its characteristics, its demographic situation, its institutions, the main milestones in its historical development and the major economic, political, social, cultural and environmental challenges it faces.

In the absence of a single textbook on the market covering the wide range of topics covered in the course, this tool serves as a teaching manual, while avoiding the cumbersomeness often associated with this type of work. It should also make it easier for students to take notes, by emphasizing the most important points.

Ideally, students should read the corresponding module before a class session, then reread it again afterwards, in the light of their notes and class discussions.
