The first part of the book proposes a new reading of the interaction between the educator, the child and the family, based on a psycho-educational model of support adapted to early childhood. It clearly and functionally describes a detailed thinking and planning process that is useful in most everyday situations, from the easiest to the most complex. Readers will find precise points of reference to guide their educational intervention, as well as their work with children with special needs.
The second part of the book presents a typical day in the life of a child attending an educational service. Each moment of the day is described in detail. Particular attention is paid to the quality of the physical environment, as well as to the quality of the interaction between the educator, the child and his family. The process of reflection and planning is illustrated with practical examples specific to each of the chosen moments.
Services éducatifs de qualité : Théorie et pratiques is aimed at educators and managers of early childhood education services and 4-year-old kindergartens, as well as students of early childhood education techniques and preschool teaching programs. Parents of young children will also find food for thought and ways to get involved in the life of their child attending an educational service.
