In recent decades, international and constitutional law have increasingly interacted in the area of fundamental rights. Whereas the content of the first international instruments was influenced by theBill of Rightsor theFrench Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the CitizenToday, it is the treaties and declarations adopted by international institutions that have a decisive impact on national constitutions. To take note of this new interaction, the presentCompendium of international and constitutional law on fundamental rightsreproduces the main international instruments and important constitutional laws enshrining fundamental rights. The first volume covers universal instruments adopted by the UN, ILO, UNESCO and WHO, or under the aegis of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The second volume contains regional instruments (OAS, Council of Europe, European Union, OSCE, African Union, ASEAN, OIF, Commonwealth), as well as extracts from the constitutions and constitutional laws of 15 countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea.Charter of Human Rights and Freedomsand theCanadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
