In her practice, the nurse is in constant interaction with individuals, families and members of intra- and inter-professional teams. To fully exercise her professional role, she must mobilize all aspects of the relational dimension of care, and therefore of communication. Communication is the central core of nursing practice. It represents the silk thread that binds together the various skills required to implement the science and art of care.
The primary mission of this book is to shed theoretical light on the concepts and fundamentals of communication. It integrates the nursing vision of care, clinical judgment, leadership and various communication strategies, providing concrete tools and interventions adapted to different care contexts and clinical situations.
This collective work is divided into two sections. The first section presents the theoretical foundations and concepts that optimize communication in nursing practice. The second part of the book follows on from the first, while incorporating and clarifying theoretical concepts relating to the development of communication in people, from birth to the end of life. It contextualizes the notions of communication addressed in the first section, with the help of clinical vignettes.
