The sharing economy, new consumption models based on use rather than ownership, participative financing, etc. - companies, customers and investors are expressing themselves more than ever in accounting and financial terms. In fact, accounting language is now at the heart of the relationship between these three parties, and constitutes their common language. It is used to formulate the expectations of each: a product that meets the customer's needs and the price he wishes to pay, liquidity and time for entrepreneurs, and a rewarding return for investors. We're also witnessing the reversal of traditional roles: with participatory financing platforms, it's now the customers who finance the design and development of the products or services they want. And nothing can be taken for granted: there's no longer a one-size-fits-all model. So, just as some companies are adding storefronts to their online stores, others are going in the opposite direction. But to succeed, you have to know how to count. And decide.
Relations between companies and investors are also marked by a new complicity, which goes beyond money to include knowledge and networks. Weary of the ups and downs of the stock markets and driven by a desire to work directly with entrepreneurs, private investors are joining institutional investors in establishing operating and remuneration contracts by mutual agreement. Royalties, percentages of the company's value, etc.: here too, you have to know how to count. And decide.
Finally, in an era when the whole world is a business space, what could be more extraordinary than to find that, despite the diversity of languages and expertise, accounting is a universal language that quickly rallies all partners around a common project.
