Théophile Serge Nomo

Professor of Finance and Director of the Department of Finance and Economics at the School of Management of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Mr. Théophile Serge Nomo holds a Ph. Théophile Serge Nomo holds a doctorate in administration from the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada); a chartered accountant diploma, CPA, CGA from the Ordre des CPA du Québec; a post-graduate diploma (DEPA) in financial institutions; and a post-graduate diploma in commerce (D.E.S.C.) in finance and accounting from the École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Douala (Cameroon). He is co-founder and co-director of the Laboratoire de recherche et intervention sur le développement de l'entreprise dans les pays en développement (LARIDEPED) at the École de gestion de l'UQTR. Mr. Nomo is currently the academic coordinator of scientific cooperation agreements between UQTR and Cameroon's Agence de Promotion des PME (APME), Senegal's Agence de Développement et d'Encadrement des PME (ADEPME) and the Agence Côte d'Ivoire PME. He is also the founder of the new PME AFRIQUE platform, which aims to boost the competitiveness of SMEs in Africa. Mr. NOMO regularly acts as an expert in setting up labelling and scoring systems for SMEs in certain African countries. For several years, he was director of the diagnostic and restructuring program for manufacturing SMEs in Cameroon. His research work and publications in scientific journals focus on entrepreneurial and corporate finance, venture capital, performance and risk management, and financial accounting.
