The hustle and bustle of everyday life overwhelms you. The last time you had the opportunity to take care of yourself was long ago. Imposter syndrome haunts you. You've experienced violence, harassment or inappropriate comments. You're paid less than your colleague doing the same job. Your skills aren't recognized for what they're worth, even if you have to cut into your sleep hours to prepare your files.
Do you recognize yourself in any of these situations? If so, it's probably because you're a woman. Although women make up half of humanity, many have remained invisible throughout history. Trapped in the chaos of a male-dominated society and expected to excel in every sphere of their lives, women have had to go through thick and thin to realize their dreams and take their place in society and the workplace.
I'm sharing with you what I so wish I'd known earlier in my life, to get to know myself better as a woman. Navigating between persistent inequalities and remarkable advances, this book, accessible to all, takes you on a journey to the heart of multiple facets of women's experience in society, from prehistory to the present day. Feminism and its allies, stereotypes, grossophobia, women's place in the workplace, mental workloads, work-life balance, violence and feminicide, women in traditionally masculine environments, reconciling work and menstrual cycles, menopause, modern slavery, entrepreneurship, intersectionality, laughter and feminine spiritual intelligence are just some of the themes I demystify. The uniqueness and contribution of every woman is honored, from witches to the founders of our nation, feminists, immigrants, aboriginal women, inventors, workers, entrepreneurs, mothers, caregivers and many others. What if these everyday heroines carried the hope of a better society? What if your voice helped redefine a society and workplaces that were fairer, more humane, more aware and more connected to women's lives?
May this book inspire women to awaken the power within them tochanging the world, day by day.
