The family business is made up of the business, the family and the estate. These three subsystems intersect and interact. This is what makes this type of business unique and complex. To master this complexity and give a voice to all family members, structures need to be put in place.
There are governance structures to ensure the company's prosperity, such as the executive committee or the board of directors, but there are also governance structures to ensure the family's well-being, such as family meetings and the family council.
The purpose of this guide is to demystify family councils and provide you with the tools you need to implement them in your family business.
