Yaquelin Cruz Palacios holds a degree in literature from the University of Oriente (Cuba). A specialist in Hispanic linguistics from the University of Havana, she holds a doctorate in pedagogical sciences and is a professor at the University of Holguín (Cuba), where she is currently Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Literature. Her research interests include vocabulary didactics, the competency-based approach and the teaching-learning of foreign languages (Spanish and French). In the field of gender studies, her most recent work focuses on linguistic sexism, professional gender identity, female leadership in higher education and the role of women in science, technology and innovation.
