Pascale Lefrançois
Pascale Lefrançois has been a professor in the Department of Didactics at Université de Montréal since 2000. She has held the position of Vice-Rector, Student Affairs and Studies since 2022. For nearly 25 years, she taught and coordinated the compulsory written French course in all initial teacher training programs at the Université de Montréal. Since 2013, she has chaired the scientific oversight committee for the TECFÉE, the certification test in written French for teaching. Her research focuses on the didactics of French, more specifically its linguistic aspects (spelling, syntax, lexicon), at the primary level. She has also worked on the mastery of written language from primary to post-secondary levels. She is regularly consulted by the media and the Quebec Ministry of Education on various issues relating to the teaching and learning of writing and the French language in general.
