Leidiedis Góngora Cruz holds a degree in History from the University of Oriente (Cuba) and a Masters in Cuban History and Culture from the University of Holguín (Cuba). She also holds a doctorate in philosophy. She is a lecturer in the Department of History at the University of Holguín and collaborates with the Center for the Study of Culture and Identity. She specializes in women's issues and Cuban thought.
