Karine Deschatelets
It was in 2012 that primary school teacher Karine Deschatelets created her blog "La classe de Karine". What she calls "her little page" now acts as a long-distance colleague for primary school teachers in Quebec and across the French-speaking world. Tips, strategies, ideas and teaching materials have been shared for over 10 years. After teaching 6th, 4th, multi-level 4th and 5th grades, Karine is now a 5th grade teacher. She is also the volunteer vice-president of the Association des enseignants du primaire du Québec (AQEP). She's always on the lookout for new ideas and is actively involved in her professional development. Karine keeps up to date with the latest research and evidence in education. In 2021, the Guide pratique pour une rentrée réussie, a book packed with strategies for planning a successful back-to-school experience, was published. She is also involved in professional integration at the school service center where she works, providing training for new teachers. She also gives talks to student teachers on a variety of subjects, including workshops. To make sure you don't miss any of her sharing, you can follow her on Facebook and Instagram: @laclassedekarine
