Benchmarking: meeting performance targets and social challenges

This book provides a set of self-assessment checklists for management control to enable comparison with best practices. The mechanisms addressed in this book include the budgeting process, the management dashboard, the management information system, compensation policy, and risk management policy.

Best practices are derived from an analysis of a wide range of case studies, articles, and benchmarking projects (benchmarking), several of which have been published by the author.

This book is intended specifically for chief financial officers and controllers interested in evaluating and improving their practices in order to achieve the goals of legitimacy, competitiveness, and productivity, and to address the challenges of collaboration, integration, influence, and learning within an organization.
