Developing as a professional in the professions addressed to others

Professions addressed to others share something special that makes them both unique and complex. Far from being merely intellectual work, they have a strong human, interactional, emotional and ethical dimension, in which the relationship with the Other is central. With the growing complexity of the professions addressed to Others, and of the conditions in which they are practiced, we may well wonder about the new forms of professionalism called for in day-to-day work, about the difficulties faced by those involved, and about the forms of support offered to them. This book sheds new light on professional development in the human professions, drawing on in-depth reflection and empirical findings.
