How can journalists make the most of the possibilities offered by audio? Beyond the fact that radio, even a hundred years old, is still relevant today, this book explores different aspects of audio journalism, which encompasses all types of audio content produced following a rigorous journalistic approach. It covers every stage in the production of news reports, public affairs programs and original news podcasts. This book methodically describes the basic rules and procedures to be followed, with respect for listeners and ethical rules.
This book will enable anyone interested in radio, audio professionals, community radio volunteers or journalism students, to acquire solid knowledge or update their skills while reflecting on information in the audio universe.
Dominique Payette, now Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communication at Université Laval, has practiced and taught journalism for over three decades. She holds a master's degree in communications and a doctorate in sociology from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
