Upon closer inspection, these adverse events often reveal a form of insidious dehumanization that exists as a latent risk within the healthcare and services ecosystem. Furthermore, not a month\u2014or even a day\u2014goes by without discussion of nurses, their work, their working conditions, their training, or the shortage of nurses in hospitals. Yet, as healthcare professionals, it is often proclaimed that: Nurses save lives! For now, do we truly understand the why, the how, and at what cost this occurs under the system\u2019s current conditions? Recognizing the inherent humanism in \u00abcaring\u00bb\u2014the added value of being truly present with others, which allows us to better understand their needs and reality and to encourage their participation in their care journey\u2014can provide useful avenues for reflection. These insights, grounded in the literature, highlight a humanization of care that takes shape particularly when there is <strong>consistency between the essence of nursing practice, the organization of care, and a healthy work environment<\/strong>. A nursing care model that is visible and measured using holistic tools, which will truly embed the system in a process of continuous improvement in the quality of care and sustainable safety\u2014benefiting clinical nurses, the system, patients, and their loved ones alike.<\/p>\n<p>This book\u2019s originality lies in its argument for a pragmatic approach that emphasizes the humanization of care\u2014an essential element for achieving long-term performance goals within a healthcare system. Intended for nursing students at all academic levels, it brings together essential information that is also highly relevant for any nurse pursuing continuing education. Concepts such as <strong>professionalism, continuous improvement in the quality of nursing care, sustainable patient safety, the patient experience, and the management of innovation in both clinical and administrative settings<\/strong> in particular, support the proposed model of: <strong>A Renewed Approach to Governance Through Humanistic Project Management\u00a9<\/strong>.
