Richard Étienne

Richard Étienne has a degree in Classics, a doctorate in Latin studies, and is a teacher-trainer and university lecturer in educational science. In 1996, he defended a thesis entitled La didactique des langues anciennes dans les établissements français de 1970 à 1995 (The teaching of ancient languages in French schools from 1970 to 1995), and in 2004 obtained a habilitation to direct research (Apories et contradictions du changement en éducation scolaire). In 2001, and until 2012, he created and coordinated the research and professional Master's degree in Educational Consulting and Training, as part of a partnership between Université Paul-Valéry-Montpellier 3 and IUFM-Montpellier 2. He is an honorary professor at Université Paul-Valéry-Montpellier 3, member of the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire des Recherche en Didactique Éducation Formation (LIRDEF), axe Travail, Formation et Professionnalité, and his CV is online (https://cv.archives-ouvertes.fr/richard-etienne). His activities and work focus on change, projects, organization and analysis of the work of teaching, health and social workers, as well as supervisors and trainers of adults, students and pupils. He uses the clinical approach and the analysis of educational situations.
